Along with exporting products to the United States, competent Vietnamese agencies and businesses are also making every effort in order to bring US agricultural products to the Vietnamese market.

According to statistics released by the US Department of Agriculture, in 2023 the US was the third largest exporter of agricultural products to the nation with an export value of US$3.1 billion.

During the past eight months of the year, Vietnamese import turnover from the US market reached US$9.8 billion, of which a significant part was agricultural products.

Grasping on the growing demand for high-quality imported products, the US has moved to intensify import activities in recent years in a bid to ensure that the Vietnamese market can gain access to the best agricultural products from the US such as potatoes, apples, blueberries, and chicken.

If consumers were aware of American apples or blueberries, American potatoes and chicken will further contribute to diversifying people's daily food choices and also serve the foreign communities based in Vietnam.

In order to increase the import of US agricultural products to the country, recently, within the framework of the US agricultural trade delegation’s visit to Vietnam led by the US Department of Agriculture's Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis M. Taylor visited MM Mega Market, an importer of high-quality US agricultural products which serves the Vietnamese market.

During the visit to MM Mega Market An Phu in Ho Chi Minh City, the US agricultural trade delegation learned about high-quality domestic and imported agricultural products on sale at the supermarket.

The delegation also expressed excitement when visiting the booth selling mixed baby potatoes and American red potatoes at the site.

According to the delegation’s representative, the US potato industry relies on experience and research from seed potatoes in order to the harvest process ad produce a better potato yield and quality whilst helping farmers to reduce the ecological impact.

American potato growers and agronomists must therefore be certified in soil care and crop management. Additionally, the use of modern farming techniques such as global positioning systems (GPS) is required as a means of ensuring that potato plants receive optimal moisture and nutrients throughout the growing season.

American potatoes are therefore guaranteed to be of both good quality and consistency, meeting all quality standards when exported to any country around the world.

Along with potatoes, MM Mega Market is currently the only exclusive distributor of frozen Tyson whole chickens to the HORECA customer group.

Produced by one of the largest meat processing corporations in the world, Tyson American chicken is always a safe choice for many hotel, restaurant, and cantering (HORECA) chains operating within the Vietnamese market.
