Mid-autumn festival celebrations from bygone era re-enacted in HCM City

An exhibition displaying different lanterns from the old times used in mid-autumn festival celebrations has drawn plenty of locals and tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in recent days.
As many as 70 pieces of work are being displayed at 187 Bach Dang street in Tan Binh district of Ho Chi Minh City to remind people of mid-autumn festival celebrations from the old times.
Many artisans spend hundreds of working hours on creating traditional lanterns.
The highlight of the exhibition is a dragon-shaped lantern which stretches for 10 metres and draws inspiration from a lantern parade in Nam Dinh province 100 years ago.
The event provides beautiful backgrounds for visitors to snap photos.
The exhibition brings a joyful and cheerful atmosphere to visitors ahead of the mid-autumn festival.
The event exhibits traditional toys, thereby helping guests to understand more about Vietnamese culture in the old times.
The exhibition is scheduled to last through to September 20.
