LÂM ĐỒNG — A conference was held in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng on Thursday to help local tourism businesses learn more about Halal tourism industry standards and connect with Indian tour operators.
The event was organised by the province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Lâm Đồng Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, and the Lâm Đồng – Đà Lạt Tourism Association.

Phạm S, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that to exploit the Indian market with its unique cultural, religious and lifestyle, it requires tailored services and standards, he said, urging local agencies to cooperate with tourism businesses in studying Halal standards for tourists, and implement diverse activities to stimulate local tourism.
He also asked them to study and develop new tourism products, and exploit more tours to India.
Mahesh Chand Giri, a representative of the Indian Consulate General in HCM City, said Việt Nam and India are important partners of each other. Bilateral trade has grown impressively in recent years. One of the potential for the two countries to strengthen their foreign relations is cultural and people-to-people exchange.
