Vietnam to face China at VTV Cup 2024’s quarter-finals

In a thrilling match held in the northern province of Ninh Binh, Vietnam emerged victorious following a 3-0 win against Paint Masters of the Philippines.
Vietnam started the match against the Philippines strongly, taking an early lead and claiming the first set with a score of 25-11.
Local players continued to have good performance in the second and third sets which ended with the same score of 25-21 in favour of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese team ranked third in Group A and will play against Henan of China in the quarter-final stage. The tournament opened on August 24 in the northern province of Ninh Binh and is due to run through to August 30.
A total of eight teams are divided into two groups and are playing a round-robin format to select the top four sides who will progress to the semi-final stage.
The tournament was launched back in 2004 and has been since held annually. Last year saw the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team 1 ultimately win the tournament after defeating the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team 2 in the final match held in Lao Cai province.
