Various kinds of lanterns are being sold at Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street in HCM City's District 5, during the Mid-Autumn festival run-up.

Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street is a hub for herbal medicine and lanterns. These days, local shops are selling lanterns, ranging from traditional to modern.

Bamboo basket lanterns featuring teddy bears, jade rabbit lanterns, and koi lanterns with embedded gems are popular.

The models are equipped with LED lights and cheerful sounds that attract customers. Depending on the kind, each lantern is priced between VND40,000 and VND200,000.

Traditional lanterns have lower prices at roughly VND20,000-25,000 each.

Shops pay great attention to decorating their spaces to attract customers.

According to traders, the street will be more crowded when the Mid-Autumn festival is approaching.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, known as Tet Trung Thu, is one of the country's biggest festivals. It is traditionally held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, which falls on September 18 this year.
