Children from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia gathered in Ho Chi Minh City on August 13 as part of an ongoing international exchange programme taking place in the southern city.
A festival for children from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia begins on August 13 in Ho Chi Minh City, with the event being hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The three-day function is part of activities to mark the 62nd anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos and the 57th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties. The annual programme has been held by the Ho Chi Minh municipal Youth Union since 2010 as part of efforts to strengthen solidarity and amity between Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian children. Visitors to the event are treated to special dances and music performances featuring a message of solidarity, peace, and friendship, among the three countries. Participants also engage in a wide range of activities with the aim of learning more about the traditional culture, history, language, and development of the three countries. Delegates visit Ho Chi Minh Museum. Children play folk games at Ho Chi Minh City Children's House.
