Three lives claimed in tragic collision on national highway in Central Highlands

ĐẮK LẮK — A fatal road accident, involving a pickup truck and a motorbike, on National Highway No. 26, running through the Central Highlands province of Đắk Lắk, resulted in the deaths of three family members in the early morning of Friday.
Initial reports indicate that the pickup truck, registration number 47C-286.03, was driven by Trần Doãn Tùng, 49, residing in Krông Pắc District.
He was travelling towards Buôn Ma Thuột City from Krông Pắc.
As the vehicle approached the national highway, it collided head on with a motorbike, registration number 47F1-476.48.
The motorbike was ridden by Vũ Văn H., 41, living in Ea Đar Commune, Ea Kar District, Đắk Lắk. He was carrying his 36-year-old wife and 13-year-old son and heading in the opposite direction.
The severe impact resulted in the immediate deaths of all three occupants on the motorbike.
The motorbike sustained significant damage to the front end, while the pickup truck's front end was extensively destroyed and then crashing into a fence at a nearby plantation.
Upon receiving the report, the city’s police dispatched officers to secure the scene and investigate the incident, including identifying the victims.
The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries and is currently at the police station assisting with the investigation.
Relatives of the victims revealed that on Thursday, H. and his family had travelled from Ea Kar District to Buôn Ma Thuột City for a visit.
On Friday morning, at 6.30am they were returning home to Ea Kar District when the accident occurred.— VNS
