Petrol prices plunge for third consecutive time to below VND23,000/litre

Petrol prices were adjusted down to below VND23,000 per litre from 3 p.m. on July 25 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance.

In the latest price adjustment by the two ministries, RON95-III, the most commonly used fuel in Vietnam, fell by VND290 to VND22,880 per litre.

The price of E5 RON 92 biofuel was also revised down by VND270 to a maximum of VND21,900 per litre.

Elsewhere, the prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were capped at VND20,190 per litre and VND20,320 per litre, decreasing by VND310 and VND340 per litre, respectively.

Mazut 180CST 3.5S was sold at no more than VND17,170 per kilo, dropping by VND440 per kilo.

For the latest price adjustment, the two ministries decided not to extract the petrol price stabilization fund. Since October 2023 this has marked the 40th time the petrol price stabilization fund has not been used.

Since the beginning of this year, petrol prices have undergone 29 adjustments, with 16 times up and 13 times down. Meanwhile, oil prices have experienced 14 times up and 15 times down.
