Historical and legal evidence proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) islands as well as the life of soldiers garrisoned there are introduced at a photo exhibition held in Nha Trang in the southcentral coastal province of Khanh Hoa.
The Vietnam Lawyers Association opens a photo exhibition about the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes in Nha Trang city on July 2. The exhibition features both historical and legal evidence proving Vietnamese sovereignty over both groups of islands In his opening remarks, Nguyen Van Quyen, president of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, says the function is expected to improve public awareness about the country’s sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa. The exhibition also helps to inspire patriotism, solidarity, and responsibility to safeguard Vietnamese sovereignty over seas and islands among people from all walks of life, particularly young people, he says. The photos portray the beauty of Truong Sa and the daily activities of soldiers garrisoned on the islands tasked with protecting the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands. A young person is eager to find out about the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) through the photo exhibition. National flags flying on islands of the Truong Sa archipelago are also on display. The exhibition is open for free, helping both locals and foreigners to gain a greater understanding about the history and the beauty of the islands. The display attracts a large number of residents and tourists.
