Teams from 53 countries come to Binh Dinh for Teqball World Series in June
As many as 131 teams from 53 countries and territories worldwide will compete in Teqball World Series to be held in Quy Nhon city of southcentral coastal Binh Dinh province for the first time from June 6 to 9.
The athletes will compete in the men’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles, according to the rules of the tournament.
Strong athletes from countries such as Poland, Hungary, Thailand, France, the United States, and China will converge on Quy Nhon city in early June to practice, get acquainted with the location, and prepare for their performance during competition.
Binh Dinh hopes the tournament will help to bring local beautiful images to the world and attract greater foreign investment in different sectors, especially tourism, thereby further contributing to socio-economic development and raising the country's position in the international arena.
Teqball is a ball sport that is played on a curved table, combining elements of sepak takraw and table tennis.
Teqball was first played in Hungary in 2014 and has since drawn the attention of many people, especially football stars.
The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) was founded in March 2017, with its membership now consisting of 124 national federations, over 4,000 clubs worldwide and more than 800 referees.
The global governing body FITEQ has organised the Teqball World Cup five times in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.
