The newswire made use of an extensive data analysis programme to calculate the search volume of Google Trend Index and Naver in the first week of July and then compared it with the last week of June. The results showed that the leading destination was Phu Quoc, followed by Nha Trang and Tokyo in Japan.
The first week of July saw Phu Quoc earn 12,855 points, up 2,962 points compared to the last week of June; followed by Nha Trang with 10,157 points; and Tokyo with 3,796 points.
Most notably, Phu Quoc is more popular among female Korean tourists, accounting for 67% of the survey’s data, while the percentage stood at 64% for Nha Trang.
Other cities featured on the list of the top 15 destinations for Korean travelers were Bangkok and Phuket of Thailand, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, Nagoya of Japan, Barcelona of Spain, Kyoto of Japan, Hanoi of Vietnam, Paris of France, New York of the United States, Sydney of Australia, Shanghai of China, and Munich of Germany.
