Around the end of July, the idea of painting the Việt Nám flag on the roof emerged on social media and quickly gained traction.

Numerous families in Nghệ An, Yên Bái and Gia Lai Province have meticulously painted the national flag on their home.

Several families have used the red roof that was already there, drew a star shape using a tape measure, and painted the star shape yellow to create the national flag on their roof.

It not only makes the roof stand out, but it additionally showcases people's appreciation of patriotism and pride in their country.

These photos and videos attracted millions of views, thousands of comments and shares on social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok.

It became a craze in the internet sphere when a large number of people have eagerly invited one another to participate.

A group of three young men from Phú Yên Province completed the flag on a 50m2 roof in nearly a day.

Trần Thành Hưng, 22 years old from Phú Yên, said: "We are very proud to have completed the work of painting the Vietnamese flag on the roof together."

"I think the most difficult step is to measure the shape of the yellow star to make it as accurate as possible."

Thirty five year old Nguyễn Văn Nam, from Hà Nội completed the painting of the national flag on his roof in less than a day.

"We are proud of this work. Not only does it show our patriotism, it is also an opportunity for family members to join hands and strengthen our bonds," said Nam. -- VNS
