The capital city will hold a wide range of activities as part of efforts to mark the build up to 79th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945-2024).

The municipal Department of Tourism, working in collaboration with the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Centre Hanoi and the Dinh Lang Viet (Vietnamese Communal Houses) Club, will organise the “Ao Dai connecting Hanoi tourism and heritage 2024” programme.

The scheme will take place from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on September 1 on several streets around Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, and Long Bien districts.

An exhibition of calligraphic works will get underway at the Temple of Literature from August 31 to September 25.

The free puppet shows at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel on September 1 and September 2 are expected to bring wonderful experiences for both locals and foreign tourists to enjoy.

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will introduce a typical highland market session in Hanoi’s outlying district of Son Tay during the upcoming four-day holiday marking the country’s 79th National Day on September 2.

A model of a typical highland market session will be erected introducing a range of specialties from the northwest and northeast regions across 50 booths. Furthermore, special music programmes will be held at 8 p.m. on September 1 across the capital to celebrate the 79th anniversary of National Day.
