As the champions of the National Cup during the 2023/2024 season, Nam Dinh FC will take part in the 2024/2025 AFC Champions League Two which is scheduled to take place from September to May, 2025.
Nam Dinh FC have been put in seed group No. 2 alongside Port FC of Thailand, Sydney FC of Australia, and Selangor of Malaysia.
The seed group No. 1 consists of Sanfrecce of Japan, Jeonbuk of the Republic of Korea, Zhejiang of China, and the losing team in the play-off match between Shandong Taishan of China and Bangkok United of Thailand.
Lee Man of Hong Kong (China), Kaya of the Philippines, Lion City of Singapore, and Muangthong United of Thailand will make up seed group No. 3. The seed group No. 4 will include Eastern of Hong Kong (China), Dynamic Herb Cebu of the Philippines, Tampines Rovers of Singapore, and Persib Bandung of Indonesia.
A draw for the 21st edition of the Asia's second-tier club football tournament will be organised on August 16.
The winner of the AFC Champions League Two will then be awarded US$3.82 million.
Previously known as the AFC Cup, which has been in existence for the previous 20 seasons, this marks the first season using a revised format and the new name of AFC Champions League Two. It will feature a total of 32 teams in the group stage.
It is the first time after 16 years that Nam Dinh FC has earned the opportunity to compete continentally.
Their first time was back in 2008 after they secured the 2007 National Cup title.
