Moscow community music competition spotlights significance of National Day

A community music competition was held in Moscow on September 2 to celebrate the 79th National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - 2024), featuring over 40 performances by amateur artists.

The contestants included long-time merchants and business owners in Moscow, as well as postgraduates studying in the city. They had spent months preparing for this competition.

Composer Hong Ha, a member of the Vietnam Musicians' Association and head of the jury, noted that songs registered were about love for the country and its people, emphasising solidarity and a focus on the nation.

A highlight of the competition was a performance recalling the history and significance of September 2, 1945, as President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) at Hanoi’s Ba Dinh Square.

The lesson of national solidarity from the National Day also serves as a reminder of the importance of uniting all people, regardless of region, ethnicity, religion, social status, whether within the country or abroad.
