QUẢNG NINH — Three coal miners were killed and one injured in a mine collapse in the northern province of Quảnh Ninh on Monday.

The accident occurred at 3.30pm in a mine under the management of Quảng Hanh Coal Company, a subsidiary of Việt Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV).

The deceased were identified as B.V.T, 33, from Kinh Môn Town, Hải Dương Province; Đ.V.T, 44, from Sơn Động District, Bắc Giang Province; and L.A.V, 29, from Bắc Yên District, Sơn La Province.

The injured miner, L.A.C, 33, from Điện Biên Province, is being treated at Cẩm Phả General Hospital. His health is now in stable condition following surgery and is receiving intensive care as of Tuesday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the collapse occurred while the miners were working underground.

Rescue teams from the company were immediately deployed to the site following the accident.

Leaders of TKV, the company and local authorities are present at the scene, providing support to the families of the victims.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

This is the second fatal mining accident in Quảng Ninh Province this year. On April 3, four miners were killed and seven others were injured in a collapse at the Thống Nhất Coal Company, also under TKV. — VNS
