Khánh Hòa Province will soon celebrate achieving its target of receiving nine million tourists this year, according to its Department of Tourism.

KHÁNH HÒA - Khánh Hòa Province will soon celebrate achieving its target of receiving nine million tourists this year, according to its Department of Tourism.

A event will be held at Cam Ranh International Airport on October 1 to welcome the nine millionth visitor.

On October 13 there will be a function at April 2nd Square in its popular beach resort city of Nha Trang to mark this achievement.

Authorities will recognise and honour businesses, the media and other partieswho have contributed to the tourism industry.

Businesses are being encouraged to sponsor prizes for visitors.

To mark the achievement, the Khánh Hòa tourism industry will launch a promotion campaign involving hotels and other tourism services in the last three months of the year.

By early September the province had already received around 8.2 million overnight visitors, including more than three million foreigners.

Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Malaysia have been among the main sources of foreign visitors.

Last year there had been around seven million visitors. - VNS
