HÀ NỘI A magical programme featuring performances by well-known Japanese artists will be coming to the stage of the Vietnam Circus Federation from May 18-26.

Entitled Ninja Magic Show, the show is jointly organised by the Vietnam Circus Federation (VCF) and Zenpro Corporated Inc from Japan.

Based on a Japanese legend about two brothers who oppose an evil king, the performance will revolve around the main characters who are legendary Japanese ninjas, acted by Japanese artists named Ai and Yuki.

The programme will also include circus acts performed by artists from the Vietnam Federation, including Ninja springboard, daring rotations, a monkey circus, Japanese umbrella magic and sword balancing on a swing.

According to the VCF director, the show has taken over a year to bring to the stage and was originally listed for 2023, but performers are confident that for the audiences, it will be worth the wait.

"The time allowed us to meticulously and thoroughly plan for this programme, from preparing the script to inviting artists from Japan through the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism," Thắng said.

Ai and Yuki are two famous actors and circus artists in Japan and were the first Japanese circus performers to sign contracts and embark on an extended tour in Las Vegas, US.

"During those trips, we had the opportunity to accumulate a lot of professional experience. However, after a period of training with Vietnamese artists, I could see that they all have high skills and in no way are at all inferior to the international circus artists we have worked with," Yuki said. "Therefore, I believe this will be a programme of high quality."

The Ninja Magic Show will be performed at the VCF from May 18-26, with the performance on May 24, free for children with disabilities.

The VCF has also announced the launch of the Giấc Mơ Tuổi Thần Tiên (Fairy Tale Dreams), another circus spectacular which will be entertaining children in the capital city from May 24.

Fairy Tale Dreams will take children to a fantasy world where they directly meet and interact with their favourite animated characters. The show also celebrates courage, promotes the spirit of unity and fosters the idea that everyone has the strength to overcome challenges, fight against evil and protect what is right.

According to the VCF director, circus art has been beloved by many generations of audiences, especially children.

The VCF is therefore keen to create circus programmes that especially reach out to children, particularly on occasions such as Children's Day on June 1, summer holidays, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the New Year Festival.

Circus artists want to captivate children with dazzling and educational artistic programmes that offer them exciting and memorable experiences on the stage, Thắng said. VNS
