The number of international tourists to Vietnam has seen a sharp increase at the end of the year 2024, helping the tourism industry set ambitious goals for 2025.
Over the first ten months of 2024, South Korea remained Việt Nam's largest source of tourists, with 3.7 million visitors (26.4 per cent), while China was in second place with three million visitors (21.3 per cent).
The Asian market remains Việt Nam's largest source of international visitors, with over nine million arrivals, reflecting a 51 per cent increase year-on-year.
The tourism industry served about three million domestic and international visitors during the four-day National Day holiday, according to the Việt Nam National Authority of Tourism.
July saw 1.15 million international arrivals, the least number of foreign tourists in the year so far, but still 11 per cent higher than this time last year.
"Favourable visa policies, and strong efforts in tourism promotion campaigns by localities across the country have attracted a rather high number of international guests compared to last year's number," the General Statistics Office explained on the rise.
