An international food festival organised by the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps will take place from December 7 to December 8 in Hanoi, with the event offering foodies a smorgasbord of dishes from various different cultures.

The event will open with the theme of "Gastronomy of Unity" and will be held at the Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound at 298 Kim Ma street in Hanoi, the organisers said during a press conference held on November 21 in Hanoi.

The event will feature more than 70 booths run by 60 embassies, foreign representative agencies, and units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and departments of external affairs from localities nationwide.

On show will be plenty of traditional and international dishes, along with souvenir and craft products from both Vietnam and many foreign countries.

A beer festival and games are expected to entertain participants whilst bringing a festive atmosphere to the event.

In addition, art programmes will be staged throughout the function, offering an occasion for cultural exchanges to take place whilst boosting mutual understanding among nations and introducing Vietnam to international friends.
