HÀ NỘI  A contemporary dance show with performers on inline roller skates will feature choreographer-dancer Xuân Lê at the Việt Nam Youth Theatre in Hà Nội on June 4.

Lê will perform contemporary dance, hip hop and roller skating at the show, which is called Reflect.

A freestyle slalom skating champion who won France's Slalom League in 2009, Lê also ranked sixth in freestyle at the Slalom World Series the same year.

He has previously worked with a variety of companies and theatres including choreographer Mourad Merzouki's Kafig Company, Cirque Éloize in Montreal, Opera National du Capitole Toulouse, and Danish dance company Next Zone.

Lê established his own troupe performing dance, circus and visual arts in 2016. His first solo piece, titled Loop, combined freestyle slalom and dance, which he performed at Hà Nội Dance Fest 2019.

The show Reflect has been performed in France, Germany and Luxembourg. It will take the audience into a minimalist and sensory universe. Gliding effortlessly on his rollerblades, Lê will propel audiences into an intense and meditative flow of energy, prompting them to reflect on the profound connection people have with movement in life.

Lê will perform with Shihya Peng in a mesmerizing duet that explores the duality of existence through poetic language embodied by the delicate interplay of their bodies.

Amidst the pursuit of balance and inner exploration, the audience is invited to embark on an initiatory and emotional odyssey where the tangible intertwines with the intangible.

In a harmonious blend of sinuous movements and subtle gestures, the two dancers mirror not only their encounter with each other but also their profound introspection.

The artists will also perform at Thừa Thiên Huế Centre for Culture and Cinema at 7.30pm on June 1.

The show Reflect will begin at 8pm at 11 Ngô Thì Nhậm Street in Hà Nội. Tickets are on sale online for up to VNĐ250,000 at https://bit.ly/3xLOjqi. — VNS
