HCM CITY The HCM City Department of Tourism and its counterparts from the Mekong Delta’s 12 provinces and one city have launched a vote for the “Top tourism destinations in HCM City and the Mekong Delta in 2024."

It aims to spotlight 126 tourist destinations meant for sightseeing, relaxation and amusement.

The voting, to be done by the public on the campaign's website on Tuổi Trẻ newspaper and a cohort of officials and tourism experts, began this week and will be open until November.

The top 50 destinations will be honoured and featured in a promotional handbook called "Attractive tourist destinations of HCM City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024.”

Bùi Thị Ngọc Hiếu, deputy director of the city Department of Tourism, said the voting is designed to sustain and promote the region's cultural heritage and unique characteristics.

The bigger goal is to persuade the business community and service providers to improve product quality, diversify services and boost the tourism competitiveness of both the city and delta. VNS
