According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in the first half of this year, Hanoi welcomed 14 million tourists, up 13.7 percent against the same period of last year.
Of the figure, international visitors accounted for nearly 500,000, up 56 percent on-year.
In the first six months of the year, Hanoi’s tourism sector earned revenues of VND55.38 trillion (USD2.17 billion), up 21.6 percent on-year.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism has organised delegations to survey some tourist destinations in Ba Dinh, Soc Son and Thanh Oai districts.
Hanoi will continue to promote river tourism products along the Red River and Duong River to complete the Chuong Duong Do-Bat Trang-Chu Dong Tu Temple tourism triangle. The capital has also planned to expand river tourism from Chuong Duong Do area to Son Tay and Ba Vi districts.
The city will develop new cultural tourism models and craft villages in outlying districts like Soc Son and Phu Xuyen.
