This group is part of a total of 4,500 employees from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, the fourth largest pharmaceutical corporation in the world, who have arrived from different countries on a two-week tour of Vietnam starting from August 27. As planned, they will visit Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay in the northern region.
The group arrived at the Ha Long International Cruise Port at around 11 am on August 29 and would have a four-hour tour and lunch on the bay.
Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Tourism Department, Nguyen Thi Huyen Anh, came to present flowers to the group. Local authorities also organised a lion dance to welcome the tourists.
"We've worked carefully with the local health department, travel agencies, and some restaurants specialising in Indian food to ensure the best services for such a large group," Huyen Anh said.
The Quang Ninh tourism official also shared that India is a potential tourism market that they have been trying to advertise after the Covid-19 pandemic ended.
"This is the largest ever tourist group that we've ever received so far, which will help promote Ha Long tourism," she said. "We'vearranged 100 cruise ships to serve the group who will arrive between August 29 and September 6.
Thuy Long 7299 was among 33 cruise boats to serve the tourists on Friday. It has a capacity of serving 48 passengers.
Owner of Thuy Long 7299 boat, Ngo Doan Cuong, said that they have carefully prepared to serve the tourist group.
"We've been informed that this Indian tourist group has some special requirements on their food," he said. "Their lunch was prepared by a restaurant in Ha Long City and we have been trained how to arrange and serve the food to the tourists. We'll try to do our best so as to leave a good impression about Ha Long tourism."
