French pianist Olivier Moulin will host a nationwide concert tour, starting in Hanoi on December 7.

The series of concerts will be called “Hommage à Gabriel Fauré” and will highlight piano compositions by French composer and pianist Gabriel Fauré. It aims to commemorate his 100th death anniversary (1924-2024).

Moulin will perform Pavane op.50 and Ballade op.19 composed by Gabriel Fauré. He will also present masterpieces by some of the world’s great composers such as Georges Enesco and Maurice Ravel.

As a prize-winner of international piano competitions, he was invited to perform at major international festivals such as La Roque d’Anthéron International Festival, Chopin Festival in Paris, Croisements Festival in China, and Gümüsluk International Music Festival in Turkey.

Furthermore, his concert tours have taken him to most European countries, as well as to the United States, Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, and Brazil.

He has also collaborated with many other artists, including Ève Ruggieri and French actor Francis Perrin.

His first solo album, which was dedicated to Franz Liszt, was released under the AmeSon/Outhere label. This recording was praised by critics and later featured in several broadcasts, notably on France Musique and Radio Classique.

Gabriel Urbain Fauré (1845-1924) was a French composer, organist, pianist, and teacher. He was one of the foremost French composers of his generation, whilst his musical style influenced many 20th-century composers. Among his best-known works are Pavane, Requiem, Sicilienne, nocturnes for piano, and the songs "Après un rêve" and "Clair de lune".

French pianist Olivier Moulin will begin his tour at French international school Alexandre Yersin in Hanoi on December 7.

The pianist will continue his tour in Hue city, Da Nang city, Da Lat city, and Ho Chi Minh City on December 10, December 12, December 13, and December 14, respectively.
