The first Vietnam corporate culture day has been recently held in Paris, drawing the attendance of nearly 150 representatives from Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and business associations in France and other European countries, as well as French enterprises.

The highlight of the event was the Vietnamese and European business culture forum jointly organised by the Vietnam Association of Business Culture Development, the Vietnamese Embassy in France and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It aimed at raising public awareness of the significance of business culture to sustainable socio-economic development, while promoting economic-cultural exchange between Vietnam and France, and Europe in general.

According to Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang, the forum is a vivid demonstration for the aspiration to enhance ties and connectivity between the Vietnamese and French business communities.

Vietnamese coporate culture is the blend of tradition and modernity, honouring the spirit of advancement, collaboration, and social responsibility, he said, adding foreign businessmen have a better understanding of the Vietnamese business climate, while supporting local enterprises to complete themselves to succeed both domestically and internationally.

In a letter sent to the forum, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung expressed his belief that the event will serve as a bridge between Vietnamese firms and their European peers, and his hope that the Vietnamese community will develop strongly, promote resilience, and contribute more to the homeland.

Featuring two sessions on business culture and enterprises’ international integration, and cross business culture – turning challenges into opportunities, the forum offered an opportunity for experts and specialists to share their viewpoints on safety and social responsibility standards, and Vietnamese firms’ adaptation to the business culture in France and Europe as a whole, among others.

It contributed to building the corporate culture among the Vietnamese business community in foreign countries, and raise public awareness of its role in socio-economic development in tandem with sustainable development amidst international integration.

Dr. Phan Bich Thien, president of the Vietnamese women forum in Europe, and a representative of Vietnamese businesspeople in Hungary, said Vietnamese firms need to understand the culture, and legal regulations in host nations, strengthen connectivity to support each other, and establish a distinctive identity and brand for Vietnam abroad for sustainable and successful development.

According to former French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean-Noël Poirier, CEO of an investment consultancy firm in Vietnam and Singapore, although Vietnamese and French private firms have a better understanding of each other, they should learn more about the business climate, legal, political, cultural and social environment, as well as administrative procedures in respective countries.

Various activities were held as part of the Vietnam corporate culture day, including an exhibition of lacquer paintings, cuisine introduction, and art performances.
