The final tournament was originally scheduled to run from November 23 to December 21. However, the AFF decided to change the schedule from December 9 to January 5, 2025, to avoid conflicts with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) club competitions.
The 10 teams are to be split in two groups of five and then play in a round robin system with each team playing two home and two away fixtures. Two group winners will subsequently advance to the knockout stages consisting of two-legged semi-finals and finals.
