A Ha Long Bay Management Board report showed that as of June 17, they collected approximately VND 448 billion in ticket sales.
"Ha Long Bay has received nearly 1.5 million visitors, including approximately one million foreign and 469,000 domestic tourists," the report said. "Nearly 295,000 tourists stayed overnight in the bay, including over 262,000 foreign and 32,000 domestic visitors.
The board added that the number of foreign arrivals has risen sharply from the final months of 2023 to May, 2024.
"Tourists from South Korea, India, and Malaysia saw the strongest growth during the period," the report said.
Meanwhile, more domestic visitors have arrived since the summer holiday, with at least 15,000 arrivals daily.
Ha Long Bay served some 2.6 million visitors last year with revenues of approximately VND800 billion.
Based on these figures, Ha Long could record revenue of VND1 trillion this year, exceeding the target of VND800 billion set by local authorities earlier this year.
