Ho Chi Min City welcomed more than three million foreign tourists in the first seven months of the year, up 30.3% on-year, achieving 51.4% of this year’s set target, according to figures released by its Department of Tourism.
The increase was mainly attributed to the country’s favourable visa policy and enhanced tourism promotion programmes by provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide.
"Favourable visa policies, and strong efforts in tourism promotion campaigns by localities across the country have attracted a rather high number of international guests compared to last year's number," the General Statistics Office explained on the rise.
