HÀ NỘI – A fire broke out at a car tyre warehouse in Hà Nội's Hoàng Mai District late on Thursday (19 December), according to local police.

The fire started around 11:30pm at the warehouse on Nguyễn Cảnh Dị Street, with witnesses reporting a strong smell of burning rubber as the blaze erupted. Nearby residents detected the fire, attempted to extinguish it, and promptly alerted authorities.

Despite their efforts, the intensity and rapid spread of the flames made it impossible for residents and on-site forces to approach the area.

Upon receiving the report, Hoàng Mai District's Fire Prevention and Rescue Police quickly dispatched four fire engines and a team of officers and soldiers to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent houses.

After approximately 90 minutes, the fire was brought under control. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but authorities are assessing the property damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. – VNS
