Factory collapse in northern province kills two, injures one

A tragic accident occurred on Thursday morning in Ninh Bình Province when a packaging factory collapsed, killing two workers and injuring another.

NINH BÌNH – A tragic accident occurred on Friday morning in Ninh Bình Province when a packaging factory collapsed, killing two workers and injuring another.

The incident took place at around 8.30am as walls and the roof of the factory in Đồng Quan Hamlet, Ninh Vân Commune, Hoa Lư District, caved in, trapping three of the six workers inside. Three others managed to escape unharmed.

Local residents, upon hearing the collapse, rushed to the scene to assist in rescue efforts and immediately alerted the authorities. Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported the victims to the hospital.

Two of the workers, identified as N.T.N, 62, and N.V.C, 49, from Gia Viễn District, succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The third victim remains in critical condition and is receiving intensive medical care.

Police conducted an investigation at the scene and are compiling a report on the incident.

The factory, which had been converted from a former grain storage facility, was being used by the current owner for packaging production at the time of the collapse. — VNS
