Artworks highlighting the beauty of Hà Nội’s autumn are on display at an exhibition in the capital city.

HÀ NỘI – Artworks highlighting the beauty of Hà Nội’s autumn are on display at an exhibition in the capital city.

Entitled Mùa Hồng Thu Thăng Long (Autumn Roses of Thăng Long), the exhibition showcases paintings by several popular artists, including Phạm An Hải, Hải Kiên, Trần Cường, Nguyễn Minh, Bình Nhi, Nguyễn Văn Đức, Lê Hữu Dũng and Lâm Đức Mạnh.

Enthralled by the beauty of charming roses and the vibrant autumns of Hà Nội, the paintings are part of the collection of collector Thúy Anh.

The exhibition is among cultural and artistic activities that collector Thúy Anh has organised over the years to spread Vietnamese culture's values through exhibitions and discussions about art, culture and literature.

Alongside the exhibition Mùa Hồng Thu Thăng Long, the agenda also includes a display of flower arrangements features works made from autumn flowers of Hà Nội.

The essence of Hà Nội’s cuisine also will be presented during a lecture conducted by cultural journalist Vũ Thị Tuyết Nhung, author of the book Hà Thành Hương Xưa Vị Cũ (Hà Nội – Flavour of the Past and the Tradition) featuring a collection of meticulous studies on Hà Nội cuisine.

On October 3, a discussion themed 'Literature and Poetry in the Past and Present' will be held featuring writer and poet Nguyễn Quang Thiều, President of the Việt Nam Writers' Association, literary critic Văn Giá, and poets Hữu Việt, Trần Đăng Khoa, and Phan Thị Thanh Nhàn.

Another highlight will be a meeting on October 4 with renowned and passionate musicians and singers who devote their music to social and community activities.

Earlier, an art discussion entitled The Essence of Contemporary Art: Honoring and Spreading was held with the participation of painters Công Quốc Hà, Phạm Hà Hải, Nguyễn Văn Đức, Phạm An Hải, songwriter Nguyễn Vĩnh Tiến, poet Như Bình, and floral artist Kim Anh Ngô.

During the discussion, artists shared their perspectives on the importance and impact of the collector’s exhibition style in promoting and enhancing Vietnamese art, particularly contemporary Vietnamese painting. The participants also explored global contemporary art and domestic art from a specialist’s viewpoint, emphasising the values of inheritance and development.

Collector Thúy Anh, speaking about the series of artistic events, expressed her ongoing commitment to honoring and spreading the beauty of fine arts. She aims to contribute to building a community culture, fostering an elegant and civilised Hà Nội citizen, and promoting kindness, a refined lifestyle, and a love for beauty.

The painting exhibition Mùa Hồng Thu Thăng Long and other activities are taking place at the old villa 36 Châu Long Street, Ba Đình District, until October 5. VNS
