Ethnic Mong contestant wins first prize at international youth music festival

Ly Mi Cuong, a contestant of Mong ethnicity hailing from the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, claimed the first prize at the Qingyin award-international youth music festival which was recently held in Hangzhou of China.

The 19-year-old contestant is currently studying at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

This comes after he claimed prizes in several local and international contests, including the first prize in the traditional musical instrument category at the 18th ZhongSin International Music Competition 2024.

At the Qingyin award-international youth music festival 2024, Cuong won the first prize in the musical instrument category.

The festival was held from July 19 to July 22 in Hangzhou of China and witnessed the participation of nearly 600 contestants worldwide.
