Denmark In Your Eyes, an annual painting contest which has been held locally since 2016 and demonstrates the green growth ties between Vietnam and Denmark, was officially launched in Hanoi on September 25.

With the theme of “Green initiatives”, the competition is open to all Vietnamese primary and secondary schoolchildren who are encouraged to unleash and develop their imagination through creativity whilst bringing their initiatives onto papers about environmental protection.

At the launching ceremony, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz expressed hope that the competition would provide a chance for local schoolchildren to share their creative ideas about protecting the green planet.

The Denmark In Your Eyes 2024 painting contest, co-hosted by the Embassy of Denmark and the Vietnam Denmark Friendship Association, will feature support offered by partners such as the Ministry of Education and Training, Kim Dong Publishing House, and Thieu Nien Tien Phong newspaper.

The deadline for submission is December 20, and names of the winners will be unveiled at an award ceremony to be held at the end of the school year in Hanoi.

The painting competition is part of activities to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark (1971 – 2024).

The first edition was held in 2016 to mark the 45th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations. In 2023, more than 21,500 paintings were submitted from 256 schools and clubs in 42 provinces and cities nationwide.
