Between January and June this year, Thailand replaced Japan as the third-largest international tourist market in Danang.
The increase in Thai tourists to Danang can be attributed to strategic factors. The East-West Economic Corridor route and the availability of direct flights between Danang and Thailand, operated by Bangkok Airways, AirAsia, and VietjetAir, have played a significant role in this surge.
Danang has also intensified tourism promotion efforts to attract Thai tourists, including participation in travel fairs and organising roadshows. The city has also welcomed numerous family trip groups, businesses, and investors from Thailand to explore its destinations.
Danang hopes the Thai government will collaborate to promote and encourage airlines from both nations to launch more direct flights to the city.
Danang is home to 15 Thai-invested projects, concentrating on retail, construction, IT, and garment and textiles.
Danang has set a goal to lure 8.4 million visitors this year, including 2.5 million foreigners.
