The scheme themed "Enjoy Da Nang cuisine - more than just delicious", has been deployed in the central city for the first time, with the ultimate aim of introducing tourists and residents to culinary addresses, regional, and international delicacies.
The city’s tourism industry plans to co-operate with numerous restaurants and hotels to create a digital culinary map. Accordingly, both residents and tourists only need to access the digital culinary map at the website www.foodtourdanang.vn in order to choose restaurants and eateries which serve dishes that suit their taste.
Truong Thi Hong Hanh, director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, revealed that a diverse range of activities will be held under the Da Nang Food Tour drive, including the "culinary passport" programme.
In particular, the local tourism industry will co-ordinate efforts with the Vietnam Restaurant Association and the Culinary Culture Association in order to conduct surveys aimed at evaluating facilities and service quality whilst developing fresh culinary products in association with tourists' experiences.
Hanh expressed her hope that the campaign will contribute to creating new tourism products specifically for tourists whilst promoting Da Nang’s rich cuisine, thereby attracting further domestic and international visitors to the city.
It also offers an opportunity for the central coastal city to further promote the recognition of the culinary brand on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world, thereby developing cuisine into one of the city’s unique tourism products.
