Among the foreign artists performing at the event are Campbell Diamond of Austria and Padet Netpakdee of Thailand.
They will be joined by local guitarists, including Vietnamese-Australian artist Le Hoang Minh, duo Phan Xuan Tri and Nguyen Ngoc San, and Dream Oasis Guitar Ensemble, to bring some of the world’s famous pieces to audiences.
According to the organisers, Da Nang’s Department of Culture and Sports, the festival aims to contribute to introducing Vietnamese culture, art, and people to foreign friends, as well as drawing attention to Vietnam from the international music community.
Furthermore, it will greatly help to both inspire and motivate students and guitar lovers in general.
The event will include a guitar competition and master classes given by experienced guitarists for members of the public to enjoy.
Da Nang has hosted an annual guitar concert since 2012, and this year marks the first time that the city will organize an international guitar festival.
Free tickets are not available, although the organisers of the two-day festival will provide 200 invitations each night.
