Colourful Hanoi during National Day celebrations

Many areas in Hanoi have been colourfully decorated with flags, flowers, and banners to celebrate the 79th National Day anniversary (September 2).

On many main streets, flags are arranged on the two sides to mark National Day.


Flags flying outside the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum at Ba Dinh Square where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence declaring the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) on September 2, 1945.

Many streets including Hoang Dieu, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hung Vuong, and Thanh Nien are also decorated with banners and slogans about National Day.
