A lineup consisting of local soloists, along with the HBSO choir and symphony orchestra, will perform memorable Christmas tunes from different styles, eras, and nations worldwide.
Several famous pieces from across the world, including O Holy Night, Silent Night, Ave Maria, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Dazzling Joy, are expected to entertain local audiences during the concert.
Conductor Tran Nhat Minh, head and chorusmaster of the HBSO Opera, will lead the concert. He has claimed several of the top prizes at international competitions such as the International Competition for Young Conductors in Vladivostok in 2003, as well as the International Choral Festival in Hoi An in 2014 organised by Interkultur, the world’s leading organiser of international choir competitions and festivals.
Present at the event will be soloist Pham Khanh Ngoc who has been invited to perform in concerts in countries such as France, Belgium, and Sweden, along with performing in many prestigious theaters and concert halls around the world such as Esplanade Theatres on the Bay in Singapore and Wiener Konzerthaus in Austria.
The Christmas and New Year concert will also feature tenor Pham Trang, baritone Dao Mac, and Phan Hong Diu who has a warm, lyrical, and powerful Mezzo soprano voice.
Most notably, the Korean Children Voices in Ho Chi Minh City will then bring to the stage a performance of festive songs.
