Xa Phin Village in Vi Xuyen District is at the foot of Tay Con Linh Mountain. It is home to around 50 households of the Dao ethnic minority.
Xa Phin Village is shrouded in fog throughout the year, and the high humidity facilitates the strong development of green moss.
In the summer, the moss dries up and turns yellow. The winter, with its high humidity, offers ideal conditions for the moss to grow, giving the houses a lush green appearance. However, only houses around ten years old see the vibrant green moss.
The Dao people's roofs are constructed using several layers of palm leaves, with each roof requiring around 8,000 to 10,000 leaves.
