Ban Gioc-Detian Waterfalls officially opened

Vietnam and China have officially opened the Ban Gioc-Detian Waterfalls in the border area of the two nations to tourists after the completion of one-year’s pilot operation.

Today, October 15, the authorities of Cao Bang Province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China organised the inauguration ceremony for the Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam)-Detian Waterfall (China) landscape site.

According to the authorities, following the trial operation, the Ban Gioc-Detian Waterfall landscape area has seen positive results.

A report from the Cao Bang People's Committee showed that between September 15, 2023 and October 11, 2024, over 16,000 tourists visited the site. This included nearly 5,200 visitors from Vietnam to the Chinese side and 10,902 visitors from China to the Vietnamese side.

At the ceremony, Trinh Truong Huy, Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, stated that the official operation of the waterfall landscape area would enhance tourism co-operation and foster friendly exchanges between the two countries.

Right after the inauguration ceremony, both Vietnam and China sent delegations of 20 visitors each to explore the scenic area on their respective sides.
