Addressing the event, Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya noted that Thailand is one of Vietnam's close neighbours, and they are both members of the ASEAN community.
She expressed hope that the event would help to further promote the friendly relations between the two countries, and offer Vietnamese people the opportunity to understand more about Thai culture.
The Thai Ambassador sent the deepest condolences to Vietnamese people affected by typhoon Yagi on behalf of the Thai people, stating her belief that Vietnam would soon overcome the aftermath of the disaster.
Along with the goal of cultural exchanges, the event aims to raise funds for the flood victims of typhoon Yagi.
The Royal Thai Embassy will continue to organise a series of cultural exchange activities such as music performances, culinary demonstrations, and the introduction of traditional handicrafts in both Hanoi and Hung Yen province up to September 28.
