As many as 700 women have worn Ao Dai (traditional long dress) and Non La (palm-leaf conical hat), forming the iconic Hanoi Flag Tower, recognised as the largest of its kind in the nation by the Vietnam Records Organization (Vietkings).

The event was held as part of the second Hanoi autumn festival taking place in the capital from September 19 to 22.

Famous designer Hoang Ly, along with Ao Dai clubs, participated in forming the shape of the Hanoi Flag Tower at the flower garden area of Ba Kieu Temple in the heart of Hanoi.

The activity also aimed to mark the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day on October 10, and raise funds to support flood victims in the northern region affected by typhoon Yagi.

The second Hanoi autumn festival, which was originally scheduled to take place from September 12 to 15, was postponed until September 19 to 22 due to the impact of typhoon Yagi and the subsequent flooding.

Some activities within the festival were canceled, such as a street parade and art performances.

The festival was first held in 2023 with the aim of promoting both the capital’s autumn destinations and tourism products.
