The occasion will open with the theme “Run for an outstanding Vietnam” and will take place as part of the ongoing third HCM City Tourism Week.
According to details given by the organising board, the race will follow a route passing a total of 17 historic landmarks around the city.
Runners will compete in four distances, including 42.195km, 21.1km, 10km, and five km. In addition to the four race categories, there will also be a KIDS RUN, with three km and 1.5km options held on December 7.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the municipal Department of Tourism, shared that the international marathon, which is one of the biggest of its kind held in the country, has become a sports icon of the southern metropolis, generating a positive impact on the local community.
The event is being co-organised by the Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) and Sunrise Events Vietnam. In 2023, the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon drew a total of 15,020 domestic and foreign runners.
